Niobium, Nb, number 41, is another somewhat average looking metal, shiny, silver, somewhat tough, not extremely exciting to me.

Niobium was also part of a confusion naming it, it's original given name was columbium, but another scientist discovered it somewhat later and, thinking it was a new element, re-named it niobium. It wasn't until some time later that they where discovered to be the same element, and even today some producers still call it columbium.

Niobium is commercially used in some steel alloys, and is capable of making so-called "superalloys" used in rocket nozzles and other extreme situations.

These are my samples!

Small Bullion Bar Set

This is a small set of bars I got as a gift, including titanium, niobium, molybdenum, indium, tin, and tantalum. It had a few more like brass and copper, but I didn't include them because they weren't unusual enough....
